Exportation of construction material in the first quarter of the year increased 1.55% compared to 2018.
Manufacturers of construction products exported, during the first quarter of the year, materials amounting to 8,263 M€, 1.55% more than in 2018, with a commercial balance of more than 1,700 M€. These figures represent 8.6% of the total exportation of the Spanish economy.
The last report on the economic situation of the Spanish Confederation of Associations of Manufacturers of Construction Products, (Cepco) corresponding to January-May 2019, includes data referring to the number of exports carried out in the first quarter of 2019.
This data shows the situation and evolution of exports of construction material during this period. In fact, during the first quarter, exportations reached 8,263 million Euros.
Other relevant data included in the study is the Index of Industrial Production and the consumption and demand of cement, in which the Demand Index for Cement (IDC) registered a year-to-year increase during April of 7.1%. On the other hand, the demand for cement slowed its growth to 7%. The whole of all these indices generates an increase of 1.55%.
The consumption of premade concrete increased 10% in 2018 compared to the previous year, reaching 4.6 Mt of industrialized concrete products used for construction in Spain, according to Andece. The sector of insulating mineral wools, (glass and rock wool) grew 18.4% reaching 2,792,245 m3, indicating an increase of 434,000 m3 over the previous year.
