Paint, plaster and cardboard are some of the materials that are able to purify the air and eliminate the virus and the bacteria in the atmosphere. Coronavirus has helped these types of materials gain prominence as never before.

The pandemic has modified our habits and lives, Hygiene and health have taken on a more important role when making some decisions. The construction sector is also seeing these changes in preferences. Material used for new buildings now are acquiring great importance because they can also help fight coronavirus.
The first material that acts as an ally in the fight against coronavirus is paint. The paints used are capable of purifying the air. The material in their composition, through the effect of light and air humidity, capture and destroy bacteria thanks to simple chemical processes that trigger these reactions
Plasterboard is also used that is capable of capturing chemical compounds generated by any form of life and transforming them into inert compounds. In this way, the air in the rooms is purified and, therefore, the risk of infection of the people who occupy these spaces is reduced.
Some decoration elements such as curtains can also contribute to reducing the number of bacteria. We are referring to curtains made of materials free of harmful elements, which prevent the proliferation of bacteria, or curtains made of very thin PVC sheets, which prevent bacterial nesting.
Although these materials are booming due to their great usefulness against coronavirus, their aesthetics, price or utility have been the most important criteria for choosing them. The buildings that require the use of these materials are mainly buildings that house people at high risk of infection, such as hospitals, nursing homes, hotels or schools.
Architecture and building materials are being adapted to the pandemic times to make buildings safer from infection and healthier to live in. The construction sector will also have to take much more account of health safety from now on.
